Patricia King graduated from CPT’s in-house training program and has passed with honors all of CPT’s behavioral and obedience training examinations. Her education from CPT is furthered by her Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Georgia State University, where she made the Dean’s list on eight occasions. Patricia has been a CPT Trainer for the past 20 years and has long been one of CPT’s most popular and requested trainers while remaining a fantastic mother to her seven-year old son, Garrett, and her five-year old daughter, Julia.
She has a natural gift for communicating with animals and quickly became a highly respected and recognized trainer who understands both the art and science of dog training. Patricia and her Labrador Retriever, Bailey, completed their AKC Companion Dog (CD) title with several placements, including 2 first place finishes, and Regional qualifying scores. Bailey was trained through the Utility level before passing away. Patricia and her Toy Poodle, Lulu, have achieved the USDAA Novice Jumpers (NJ) Agility title and have two legs toward their Novice Standard (NS) title, including five first place finishes. Patricia also owns a Canine Companions for Independence (CCI) release dog, a Golden/Lab, Kady. Kady participates as one of the Emory-CPT fMRI dogs.
In the media, Patricia has been interviewed nationally by CNN, CBS This Morning, and Sharecare.com and locally by WGCL-TV 46 and WSB-TV. Patricia’s accomplishments include functioning as an assistant coach for CPT’s Georgia Force Black and Blue retrieving team, the only team of dogs that entertained the crowd by fetching the kicking tee during Arena Football League games. Patricia continues to further her dog training and behavior knowledge by attending seminars, such as from Amy Ammen and Webb Anderson.
Patricia King teaches Group Class at CPT’s Sandy Springs location and performs Private Lessons, In-Home Private Lessons, Boarding, and Boarding Training services for CPT. In addition, Patricia is a highly gifted service dog trainer. For the 14 years, she has taught the local puppy raiser classes for CCI and she has excelled as CPT’s service dog trainer. Patricia has trained multiple service dogs for clients suffering from physical, auditory, cognitive, and psychiatric disabilities and stands atop the pinnacle as a premier dog training and behavior professional.
