Christine Engstrom joined the CPT training staff in 2024. She has been a phenomenal addition. Christine brings a unique combination of human and dog training experience, including an expertise in behavior modification theory and application, most specifically related to resolving human eating disorders.
Christine Engstrom earned a B.S. in Human Nutrition from Iowa State University and a M.S. degree in Dietetics and Clinical Nutrition Services from Northern Illinois University. She has been a registered dietician (RD) since 1992, working both in private practice and hospital settings. Christine Engstrom has also taught nutrition at the Georgia Baptist College of Nursing.
Her dog training experience includes graduating from CPT’s Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced Obedience programs and participating in agility and herding. Christine owns 2 Border Collies, Riggs and Mardi. Christine and her dogs have earned Beginner and Intermediate Tricks titles and Canine Good Citizen, Community Good Citizen, and Urban Good Citizen titles. In addition, they are certified Therapy Dogs who volunteer for Happy Tails and accompany Christine when she works with certain eating disorder clients.
Christine is an outstanding verbal communicator, which is noted by her private lesson and group class students. Christine Engstrom teaches group class, private lessons, in-home private lessons, and virtual private lessons for CPT.
