Lisa Carroll

Lisa Carroll has trained dogs seriously for 35 years and is entering her 31st year training for CPT.

Lisa has achieved 2 AKC Companion Dog (CD) titles, one with a Sheltie (Augie) and another with her German Shepherd (Phoenix).  Augie and Lisa also earned an AKC Companion Dog Excellent (CDX) title.  Lisa Carroll’s AKC competition career includes winning the prestigious Dog World Award and many ribbons and placements.

She also attained a Schutzhund I title with Phoenix. Schutzhund is a dog sport that combines obedience, tracking, and protection.

Furthermore, Lisa participated in various forms of training with her Dutch Shepherd, Rolex.  And through the years she has owned Rat Terriers, an Australian Shepherd, and multiple cats.  Moreover, in addition to her full-time dog training career, Lisa remains a licensed, albeit non-practicing, nurse.

Back in 1992, Lisa’s husband, Jeff Carroll, became one of CPT”s first trainers.  Jeff gained a Schutzhund II title with Phoenix, including a high-in-class and high-in-tracking placement. His Belgian Malinois, Pepe, was a celebrated Georgia state certified narcotics detection dog. As a canine team for the City of Cumming and the Georgia State Drug Task Force, Jeff and Pepe seized several hundred thousand dollars of narcotics.

Unfortunately, Jeff passed away several years ago.  Thereafter, Lisa increased her duties at CPT.  To ease the workload, Lisa recruited a full-time assistant.  Her assistant, Judy, plays a valuable role caring for CPT board and board train dogs.

Lisa Carroll continues to expand her training knowledge by attending seminars.  Noteworthy international trainers who have furthered Lisa’s education include Dieter Meyer, Jan Timmerman, Rik Wolterbeek, and Appie Kamps.

CPT clients love the 15 bucolic acres where boarded dogs observe a menagerie of animals, including llamas, donkeys, goats, turkey, chickens, cats, and, of course, dogs.  Lisa performs Board and Board Train services for CPT.
