Comprehensive Pet Therapy, Inc. (CPT), well known for their award winning trainers, has continued its successes. Recently, at three local American Kennel Club sanctioned events, two CPT trainers won their respective categories.
Patricia McDonnell, a CPT trainer for four years, and her Labrador Retriever, Bailey, came in first place at Friday’s Sawnee Mountain Kennel Club and also at Saturday’s Conyers Kennel Club shows. Judging the events were Mr. James J. Ham and Mrs. Ruth E. Foster. The team of Patricia and Bailey achieved scores of 190 and 196.5 (out of a possible 200), which were outstanding enough for first place both days, completed their AKC Companion Dog title, and qualified them to compete in the Regional Championships later this year.
CPT’s other winning team was Mindy Costanza and her Australian Shepherd, Apache, who garnered an outstanding score of 199 in Sunday’s Atlanta Kennel Club obedience competition. Their score not only won the Novice B class, but also accomplished the esteemed High-In-Trial award. Mindy is a renowned member of the CPT staff. She has achieved three Utility Dog and one Obedience Trial Championship (OTCh) titles on prior dogs. Apache seems well on his way to similar laurels.
Since its inception in 1992, CPT has trained the dogs of over 12,000 Atlanta area customers. CPT also offers group classes at five other locations (Norcross, Sugar Hill, Cumming, Acworth, and Riverdale), in-home private lessons throughout the Atlanta metro area, and a unique boarding training program at 15 locations where customer dogs reside at a trainer’s home as opposed to a kennel. CPT Head Trainers have competed on world teams, placed in national competitions, won regional titles, and shown at Westminster. Over 80 Atlanta area veterinary clinics recommend CPT.
