Dakota, a one and a half year old Golden Retriever, owned by Christina Shrake and trained by CPT through our Group Class program, just completed acting in a national television advertisement for Invisible Fence, Inc. Rick Salcedo and Debbie Bartoletti of Springboard Creative, Invisible Fence’s advertising agency, desired a well trained, affable, male Golden Retriever of light color who looked like the Golden visible in Invisible Fence’s logo. Springboard desired a piece depicting the experience of a family completing a visit with an Invisible Fence representative.
Dakota, a student in CPT’s competition program, readily accepted direction on the set. Dakota needed to play with cast members, run toward designated spots, and sit immediately when commanded. The final scene has Dakota running full speed then suddenly sitting while his image is morphed into the image of the Invisible Fence logo. Mark Spivak of CPT, who has handled and trained animals for movies, television, commercials, print advertisements, sales conventions, and music videos, handled Dakota for the day and completed any impromptu training required for Dakota to complete his tasks.
CPT has worked with Invisible Fence for several years handling Invisible Fence’s contracted customer training in the Atlanta area. Participation in the commercial further solidified the outstanding relationship between CPT, Atlanta’s most respected pet training company, and Invisible Fence, the nation’s leader in electronic pet containment systems. Look for Dakota this summer when the commercial is expected to complete final editing.
