In September 2013 the BBC sent a film crew to CPT to film an upcoming documentary entitled, “Inside Animal Minds.” The documentary will be broadcast on BBC2 on January 28, 2014 and on PBS’s Nova series on Wednesday, April 9, 16, and 23, 2014 at 9 pm.
The April 9 show focuses on birds. The April 16 show focuses on dogs. The April 23 documentary finale focuses on the “smartest” animals. The program description from the PBS website states:
What would it like to go inside the mind of an animal? Now, the revolutionary science of animal cognition is revealing hard evidence about how animals understand the world around them, uncovering their remarkable problem-solving abilities, and exploring the complexity of their powers of communication and even their emotions.
PBS also released a fantastic video “sneak peek” into the series. Click the above image to see outstanding video of dogs, wolves, dolphins, orcas, birds, chimps, monkeys, elephants, bees, and more. The Emory-CPT research team, including an interview with CPT’s Mark Spivak, is featured from 0:48 to 1:17 of the fast moving 3 minute 7 second video.
We hope you enjoy the sneak peek and that you will watch the Nova episodes in April.
