CPT’s competition obedience team recently achieved two first place finishes at the elite Utility level.
On Saturday, August 26, Karen Smalley and her Border Collie, Casey, earned a FIRST PLACE finish at the Utility A level with a score of 187.5 in an American Kennel Club (AKC) obedience trial held in Jonesboro, Georgia. On Sunday, Karen and Casey surpassed their Saturday performance, with another FIRST PLACE finish and an excellent score of 193. Now, they need just one more leg to achieve the prestigious Utility title. In addition to participating on CPT’s competition team, Karen is a CPT Trainer and teaches group classes at CPT’s Sandy Springs and Cumming locations and performs private lessons for CPT.
Competition obedience is great fun and provides an exciting avenue for continuing your dog’s training past the Intermediate level. If you are interested in learning more about CPT’s competition programs, please stop by or contact the CPT office by phone at 770-396-6433.
