CPT Trainer Featured in the AKC Junior News

CPT Agility Trainer Sierra Schmidt is prominently featured in the September 2007 AKC Junior News, the American Kennel Club’s official newsletter of the AKC Junior Organization. After 17-year old Sierra achieved a first place finish in the inaugural AKC National Agility Invitational, competing against seasoned adults, including world team members, the AKC asked Sierra to submit an article describing her experiences training and handling dogs. Now, the article, entitled “What Dog Training Has Taught Me,” is available online through the AKC’s website.

Seven years ago, Sierra, along with her mom, CPT Head Agility Trainer Holly Schmidt, began her dog training experience as a CPT obedience student. In the process, she became enthralled with the agility aspect of dog training and as evidenced by her accomplishments (which include a 2007 AKC Junior Showmanship Scholarship, a Masters Agility Championship (MACH), and the previously described National Championship) has reached impressive heights. We are proud to have Sierra as a member of our agility staff.
