Patricia King graduated from CPT’s in-house training program and has passed with honors all of CPT’s behavioral and obedience training examinations. Furthermore, Patricia’s bolstered her CPT education by earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Georgia State University. While at GSU, Patricia was an elite student. She made the Dean’s list on eight occasions!
For the past 26 years, Patricia King has applied her education and natural acumen while working as one of CPT’s most respected Trainers. She has long been one of CPT’s most popular and requested trainers.
Moreover, Patricia is equally adept at home. Patricia is a devoted wife to her architect husband and a fantastic mother of two high school-age children.
Her natural gift for communicating with animals quickly vaulted Patricia to pinnacle status. Her clients and peers respect and recognize Patricia’s expertise in both the art and science of dog training.
Patricia and her Labrador Retriever, Bailey, completed their AKC Companion Dog (CD) title. Their CD journey included 2 first place finishes and Regional qualifying scores. Bailey prepared through the Utility level before passing away. Patricia and her Toy Poodle, Lulu, achieved the USDAA Novice Jumpers (NJ) Agility title and two legs toward their Novice Standard (NS) title, including five first place finishes. Patricia’s Golden/Lab, Kady participated as one of the acclaimed Emory-CPT fMRI dogs. She is now training her Standard Poodle, Kiva, and her Rat Terrier, Phoebe, for agility competition.
In the national media, Patricia appeared on CNN and CBS This Morning, and was interviewed by Sharecare.com. Locally, WGCL-TV 46 and WSB-TV featured Patricia.
Patricia’s accomplishments include functioning as an assistant coach for CPT’s Georgia Force Black and Blue retrieving team. The Black and Blue team, comprised of CPT client animals, entertained Arena Football League crowds by fetching the kicking tee after kickoffs. CPT’s Mark Spivak and Patricia trained the dogs to ignore players, cheerleaders, loud music, and cheering fans, while concentrating solely on their tee retrieve task.
Like the majority of CPT’s staff, Patricia continues to further her dog training and behavior knowledge. Patricia attends seminars and education events, including those from Amy Ammen, Webb Anderson, and Canine Companions for Independence (CCI)..
Patricia King teaches Group Class at CPT’s Sandy Springs location. She also performs Private Lesson, In-Home Private Lesson, Boarding, and Board Train services for CPT. In addition, Patricia is a highly gifted service dog trainer. For the past 14 years, Patricia King taught CPT’s CCI puppy raiser classes and has excelled as CPT’s primary service dog trainer. Patricia has trained many service dogs. Numerous clients suffering from a myriad of physical, auditory, cognitive, and psychiatric disabilities have benefited from Patricia’s expertise. Patricia King stands atop the pinnacle as a premier dog training and behavior professional.
